The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Aug. 31 with 52 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session and provided the inspirational reading "Prayer."Pat Regalis was added to the sick list. A moment of silence was held for the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.Upcoming trips include: Sept. 18, Dutchway Restaurant in Myerstown; Oct. 20, Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre.Refreshments were served.The group is open to anyone 55 or older.TEPTOThe Tamaqua Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization will hold its first meeting of the 2017-18 school year on Sept. 12. All proceeds will benefit the Tamaqua Historical Society.
