Tamaqua to hold Antique Appraisal Fair on Sept. 10

If you've ever wondered about that "whatchamacallit" or "thingy" of Great-Grandma's - you know; the one you found in her attic - the Tamaqua Historical Society is offering the chance to find out its purpose and value.

The first ever Tamaqua Historical Society Antique Appraisal Fair will be held on Sept. 10 with Charlette Schneck of the Lehigh Valley on hand to provide an expert opinion.Schneck is a certified antique appraiser who will examine, identify and estimate the value of antique items for the public.There will be a limit of three items per person, with a fee of $5 per item. All proceeds will benefit the Tamaqua Historical Society. The only exclusions are sports collectible cards, fine art and firearms.The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Tamaqua Area Historical Society's Museum Annex, 114 W.
