One of Carbon county's main thoroughfares was closed Monday because of a crash.
The driver of a van owned and operated by Henise Tire Service of Allentown was traveling north on Route 209 when he struck a construction barrier in the worksite in the Packerton dip.
At 11:42 a.m., the van spun around blocking both lanes of the roadway for 30 minutes. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt. As a result his head hit the windshield.
Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
