Carbon Career & Technical Institute's joint operating committee approved the following motions during its meeting last week.

• Precision machine technology instructional aide Christopher Gallagher was approved to chaperone seven students on a field trip to Lehigh Valley CareerLink for the Skilled Manufacturing Job Fair onThursday in Allentown.• The committee approved the purchase of 24 Lenovo N23 11.6-inch Chromebooks, along with the Lenovo warranty and support, and the Google Chrome OS Management Console, at a total cost of $5,647.20.• The committee approvedan agreement for website speed and SEO updates, along with ADA website compliance, with TH1RT3ENGRAPHICS in Annandale, New Jersey, at a cost of $825.• Director of Technology Nate Rinda was approved to attend the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators Workshop for CTE Technology Coordinators on Sept. 21 and 22, at the Nittany Lion Inn in State College at a cost of $481.55 to cover registration, lodging and mileage.• Brent Borzak and Margaret Kalogerakis, along with up to two teachers, instructors and/or instructional aides, were approved to attend the Conference on Integrated Learning: The School-to-Career Connection Conference, from Nov. 8 to 10, at the Penn State Conference Center Hotel in State College at a total cost not to exceed $2,327 to cover registration, lodging, meals and mileage.• Borzak was approved to attend the Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators' Using the CTE Budgeting Process to Support Student Achievement Conference on Nov. 15, at Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center in Reading at a total cost not to exceed $335 to cover registration, meals and mileage.
