Schuylkill driver injured in crash

A Schuylkill County driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash that was reported on Aug. 17 at 10:43 a.m. along Seltzer Road in Norwegian Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dianna Higginbotham, 49, of Ashland, was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima westbound when she lost control. The vehicle traveled across the center line and onto a grassy south berm where it then slid for about 125 feet before impacting with the guide rail end with the driver's side rear tire.After initial impact the vehicle overturned twice before coming to rest on the south berm about 60 feet from the initial point of impact.Higginbotham was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, and admitted with suspected serious injuries, troopers said.Troopers are also investigating a hit-and-run that occurred on Sunday around 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township, in front of Michael's Department Store.Troopers said a driver was attempting to park in a parking space when the left front of the parking vehicle struck the left front end of a Jeep. After impact, the driver fled the scene.
