A passenger on a motorcycle was injured Sunday afternoon when the bike they were riding lost control in the southbound tunnel of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

State police at Pocono said Thomas J. Scarantino, 60, of Trenton, New Jersey, was operating a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control. The cycle impacted with the roadway on the driver's side.After impact, the cycle came to rest on the road.A passenger, Maureen Smith, 59, of Jenkintown, New Jersey, was injured and taken by Palmerton ambulance to the Palmerton hospital. Scarantino was not injured.
