McAdoo police released information from several recent traffic stops that ended up involving marijuana.

• Nicole Bailey, 40, of Tamaqua, was stopped at 9:07 p.m. on July 28. As officers spoke to her about her brake lights they detected a strong odor of marijuana. Bailey denied having any marijuana and a search of her vehicle found nothing.The officer noted the odor was coming from Bailey not the vehicle. She then admitted having a small amount of marijuana, pulling a bag from her pants.She was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for a brake light offense.• Tyler Putnam, 23, of Freeland, was stopped at 10:11 p.m. on July 30 for a license plate violation. When officers noted a strong smell of marijuana, he admitted to having a glass pipe with marijuana under the seat.He was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for the traffic offense.• William Morfa, 21, of Hazleton, was a passenger in a car stopped at 12:10 a.m. on July 31. He admitted to smoking marijuana and handed officers a green tube containing marijuana.He was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.• James Katona, 52, of McAdoo, was stopped at 8:41 p.m. on Aug. 8 for a taillight problem. When officers asked about the odor of marijuana coming from the car. Katona admitted he had a glass pipe in his sock. The pipe contained burned residue. He also had a small bag containing marijuana.He was cited for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for a taillight offense.
