Valley Pizza closes to make way for Taco Bell

A black lettered marquee signals the closure of a popular Walnutport restaurant.

Valley Pizza's marque, established in 1976 at 506 Old Main St. closed its doors to make room for a proposed 2,753-square-foot Taco Bell.

The fast-food facility will host 66 seats inside the building along with patio seating.

The long lived pizza shop will be demolished along with the rear garage to make room for the modern designed restaurant at the busiest intersection in the borough, joining the McDonald's and Burger King for a fast food trifecta.

Walnutport Investors LLC, the owners of Valley Pizza, will move the shop next door to the long-standing vacant Chinese restaurant.

Taco Bell is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
