Pocono Mountain police report on drug arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on drug arrests made by officers.

On June 23 at 2:15 a.m. police observed a vehicle driving erratically and going in circles along Rob Roy in the Pocono Farms East Development in Coolbaugh Township. A vehicle stop was made and the occupants told officers they were lost and were trying to find Route 191 and Hamlin.While speaking with the occupants, police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A consent search was conducted and found were several bags of suspected marijuana along with Xanax pills, pipes, jars and containers. Also found were 11 boxes of DG Health and cold HBP tablets.As a result of the investigation William Mitchell, 27, of Scranton, and Tamisa Silas, 27, of Moscow, Lackawanna County, were placed under arrest and each charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.On Sunday at 5:48 p.m. officers responded to the Walmart store in Mount Pocono in reference to two women observed using narcotics in a vehicle in the parking lot. On scene officers made contact with the women and located several bags of narcotics in the vehicle including suspected ecstasy, marijuana and cocaine as well as other drug paraphernalia.Arrested were Brianna Smith 24, of Tobyhanna, and Marie Ruiz-Gonzalez, 32, of Wilkes-Barre. Both were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
