An altercation led to a shooting incident in Schuylkill County on Friday evening.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Alex Rosario, 22, and Kenneth Boyer, no age given, got into a verbal altercation inside 125 Spruce St., Port Carbon, at 6:15 p.m.The dispute escalated and became physical. At some point, Boyer discharged a firearm that struck both Rosario and himself.Rosario was transported by medical helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound. He is listed in stable condition, troopers said. Boyer was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for treatment of gunshot wound that was not termed as life-threatening.Troopers said the investigation into the incident is continuing.
