Weatherly police have confirmed through an investigation that there was no child abduction attempt at West Main St. and Plane St., despite earlier reports that the occupants of a blue two-tone Ford work van tried to snatch a boy.

According to a police statement on the Weatherly department's page, the child simply "misunderstood the actions of the occupants of the van." The occupants of the van went to the police station to cooperate fully with the investigation.Although the department thanked the public for helping with the case,"We can not urge you enough, if you have information or are in trouble call 911.
