Frontier phone service in parts of Schuylkill and Luzerne counties is out due to a cut line, according to the Schuylkill Emergency Management Agency.

The outage may include 911 service in Schuylkill County, EMA Coordinator John Matz said in an emailed message to news outlets at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

He said Frontier was unable to provide any information.

The county communications center is monitoring the situation and attempting to further assess the extent of the outage in the county and the impact to 911 circuits.

Matt urged Frontier customers to remain cautious. The company was unable to say when service would be restored.
