Tamaqua Area School District's practice football field was damaged recently after a vehicle did doughnuts on it.

Superintendent Ray Kinder announced at Tuesday's school district committee meeting that the district noticed the situation that morning.Kinder said the vehicle in question is believed to have been a truck.He said the district was able to repair the field with some topsoil."The field is usable; however depending on weather conditions, that could change," Kinder said.Coaches have been made aware of the situation, he said.Kinder said the matter remains under investigation."We are investigating at this time," he said.This isn't the first time athletic fields have been damaged in the district.In April 2016, the district's softball field was vandalized.That incident occurred after a vehicle got up onto the softball field and drove around on the outfield and did some doughnuts.The incident resulted in deep tire marks ripping up the outfield.
