Ross Township revises payment of new municipal building

Ross Township supervisors voted in favor of a revised payment application of the new municipal building, while holding back some of the cash for upcoming repairs.

Drake mentioned that a previous payment had been withheld due to an issue with the building's siding, which has since been fixed. After meeting with the architect from RAL Architecture and Design, the group edited their punch list."Based on the architect's professional judgment, certain areas have been corrected, but there are still a few items that need to be fixed up," she said. The board settled on a payment of $56,137.90, and withheld $3,310, which the RAL architect said should cover the remaining repairs. The architect has already provided a Certificate of Substantial Completion, stating that the building can be occupied based on his evaluation. The board also accepted a surprisingly low-cost offer for moving furniture and other items into the new building once it is completed. Matheson Transfer Co. submitted an estimate for the move at $1,457, which was readily accepted.
