The winners, coached by Don Evans, break a tie game with nine runs in the sixth inning. Larry Leitzel, who finishes with three hits and three runs, collects two hits in the big frame. Jim Kristoff pitches all nine innings for the mound victory, and also helps his own cause with four hits and a run. Steve Yasenchak adds three hits and a pair of runs, while Bill Alonge finishes with two hits and two runs.
