One person was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when involved in a crash along Route 895 in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. as this driver was traveling west telling police he fell asleep.

The vehicle drifted into the east bound lane striking a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck.

The striking vehicle continued on, coming to rest in the west bound lane. The driver of the pickup truck reported he just bought the trailer in Georgia on Monday. The driver of the pickup and his companion were not injured in the accident.

West Penn township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
