The following defendants entered guilty pleas this week in Carbon County Court before specially presiding Senior Judge Leonard Zito of Northampton County.

Matthew Joseph Oliver, 47, of Pottsville, and formerly of Coaldale, pleaded to one count each of persistent disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.He was arrested by state police at Lehighton on Feb. 18 at 7445 Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township where he caused a disturbance.Chief Public Defender Gregory Mousseau said Oliver has a history of mental health issues and is currently living in a group home. Mousseau said when on his medications, Oliver is no problem. He said his current setting assures he takes his proper medications.Zito placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get both a drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations.William Joshua Alston,35, of Easton, pleaded to one count of bad checks.He was charged by state police at Lehighton for issuing a bad check to Aquatic Pool Professionals on an account with insufficient funds at the First Northern Bank of Palmerton.Zito placed him on probation for 24 months and ordered restitution of $2,680, half of which Alston paid Tuesday and the other half in 30 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.Mark David Felker, 24, of Bath, Northampton County, pleaded to 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested on Feb. 10 along Delaware Avenue near Fourth Street in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop.Zito imposed a fine of $150.Brian Adam Wardell,27, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested on Sept. 5, 2016, by Lehighton police in the area of 223 N. Fourth St.He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Leisa Marie Ahner, 50, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and of possession of drug paraphernalia and two summary motor vehicle code violations.She was arrested on Feb. 10 by state police at Lehighton along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township following a traffic stop.Zito imposed fines totaling $300 on the drug counts and $50 on the summary offenses.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
