State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 5-year-old girl is the victim of a domestic violence incident that they responded to at 10:07

p.m.Monday along Bonser Road in Ross Township.As a result of the incident, police charged Joseph Pelaez, 21, no address listed, with harassment, simple assault and endangering the welfare of children.Police said he allegedly struck the girl in the face with an open hand, resulting in the victim suffering an abrasion to her lower lip.
