A family argument mixed with alcohol on Sunday landed a Tamaqua man in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
Tamaqua police were called to the 200 block of Race Street at 6 p.m. to deal with Richard Aviles Jr., 29, who was intoxicated and creating a scene. Witnesses said Aviles had been drinking since the morning and was arguing with his girlfriend.Officers took him to the police station, where he sat in a cell until he became calmer. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.At 9:56 p.m., police were called back to the area where Aviles was threatening to burn down his families' homeson Race St. This time, he was arraigned on charges of making terroristic threats and harassment.Bail was set at $10,000 straight cash, which he was unable to post.
