Two women sent to Schuylkill prison

Two Wilkes-Barre women were placed in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville over the weekend after lying to police.

Tamaqua police received a tip from an off-duty officer concerning the location of Gregorio Flores, who has multiple warrants issued for his arrest. Flores was seen exiting a white Oldsmobile Alero, in the area of Greenwood Street, at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday. Two women in the car were identified as Megan Hill, 27, and Sarah Hill, 28, both of Hancock Street in Wilkes-Barre.When the Alero pulled away from Greenwood Street officers followed and initiated a traffic stop. Flores was not in the car and both women denied dropping him off or knowing anything about his whereabouts.When told they were going to be arrested, Megan Hill began texting someone on her cellphone. Officers confiscated the phone and noted the name on the Messenger app, the one the message was being sent to, was "FLORES." The message she was sending was "being placed in the back of a police car."Both women were cited for felony counts of hindering the apprehension of a criminal by concealment, hindering apprehension by providing aid and hindering by providing false information, as well as misdemeanor counts of obstructing justice.They were arraigned before on-call District Judge David Rossi, of Tremont, who set bail at $10,000 straight cash for each of the Hills.
