Tamaqua man who didn't return to jail is caught

Gregorio Flores, 37, with multiple addresses in Tamaqua, Allentown and Wilkes-Barre, was picked up by Tamaqua Police at 12:30 Wednesday morning after he failed to return to the Schuylkill County Prison after being granted a furlough.

Flores, who has an extensive criminal record, had been in the prison when he was notified of a death in the family. He petitioned for a furlough, which was granted. When he didn't return as required, a warrant was issued for his arrest.He was seen in the Tamaqua area several times over the last few days, including last weekend when he was dropped off at a home on Greenwood Street. The two women who dropped him off were arrested for hindering his apprehension.A tip led police to a Clay Street address early Wednesday. With the assistance of Coaldale and Rush Township Police, Flores was taken into custody without incident.He was taken back to the county prison.
