A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Monday along Route 209 in Middleport.Troopers said Joseph J. Cappella, 26, of Pottsville, was driving a 2003 Chrysler Sebring eastbound when he noticed a vehicle coming up behind him.Cappella pulled his vehicle onto the south shoulder to let the other vehicle pass.However, the other vehicle left its lane of travel and struck the Sebring in the rear.After impact the other driver fled the scene. Cappella and his passenger, Julia B. Reinert, 21, of Tamaqua, were not injured.The hit-and-run vehicle is a white pick-up which will have front end bumper damage.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
