Eldred hires attorney for union discussion

The Eldred Township supervisors voted to hire Thomas Heimbach and the Flamm, Walton, Heimbach and Lamm law firm to represent the township in upcoming negotiations with the Teamsters Local 773 during a special meeting Friday.

The township had originally appointed township solicitor Michael Gaul of King, Spry, Herman, Freund and Faul to take part in the negotiations along with Chairwoman Mary Anne Clausen.Clausen said that Gaul and his firm will continue to represent the township on all other matters.The township's road crew voted late last year to join the union. The township employs two full-time and three part-time crew members.Also during the special meeting, the supervisors passed a resolution that will permit the township to destroy miscellaneous township records in accordance with the Municipal Records Manual.The documents to be destroyed are census files, bid documents, recycling reports, complaints, violation notices, moving permits, Right-To-Know requests, visitor logs, correspondence and billing statements. There are six boxes all dating from 1996 to 2006.Also included will be three additional boxes of maps and other various township documents dating from 2000 to 2006.
