Tamaqua Police cited James R. Rodick, 67, of Ryan Avenue, Tamaqua, after receiving the results of blood work taken on April 4.
Rodick was driving a red Chevy S-10 pickup, traveling north on Pine Street, when the truck came to the attention of police due to erratic movements.From Pine Street, the Chevy turned left on to Elm Street and then right on to Railroad Street, which is one way headed south. He was stopped and officers determined he was too drunk to perform field sobriety tests.He was taken to St. Luke's Miners Hospital in Coaldale for blood tests.The results show he had a blood alcohol content of 0.217 percent, more than double the legal limit of .08.Rodick was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
