Schuylkill County court - bench warrants dissolved

Schuylkill County judges dissolved bench warrants against two people charged by local police.

Bench warrants dissolved:Dorothy Pyles, 33, of Easton: Charged by Rush Township police with theft of services on Feb. 16.Judge James P. Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against her and reinstated recognizance bail.He ordered Pyles to continue to stay at her current address, and not relocate without court permission. He also ordered her to apply for a public defender and be fingerprinted.Kevin Hatfield, age unknown, of Emmaus: Charged by Tamaqua police with passing bad checks on Nov. 2, 2011.Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against him and set bail at $5,000 unsecured.He ordered Hatfield to continue to stay at his current address, and not relocate without court permission. He also ordered him to apply for a public defender and be fingerprinted.Phillip M. Ryan IV, 28, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, having a controlled substance he was not authorized to have, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple assault, criminal trespass and burglary on Oct. 2, 2015.The burglary, trespass, and assault charges were dropped in district court. He pleaded guilty in county court to one three charges of reckless endangerment, having a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on April 20, 2016.Judge John E. Domalakes sentenced him to 153 days to 18 months in jail.However, Ryan failed to make payments as promised, and his probation was revoked. He then failed to respond to attempts to contact him.The District Attorney's office issued a bench warrant on May 23.Judge James P. Goodman on June 19 dissolved the bench warrant against Ryan and jailed him pending a hearing.
