A young woman was injured Saturday afternoon in a crash along Summer Mountain Road in East Penn Township.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. as the vehicle she occupied was traveling south and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The vehicle entered the right berm, striking a tree causing it to roll onto its roof.

The car slid for a considerable distance before coming to rest in the north bound lane.

The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transferred to an area hospital. The car was removed from the scene by All Points towing. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
