Lansford Police are asking the public to assist them in identifying a suspect who illegally dumped construction waste in the borough.

The department posted on social media that they are looking for a silver or blue minivan with dark blue doors, in connection with the incident which occurred over the weekend.Police believe the owner of the van is responsible for dumping bags of construction waste.Bundles of plaster and lathe with nails were found in various areas of the borough.Police said a black male was observed driving the vehicle before the incident.In Pennsylvania, illegal dumping can lead to criminal charges, as well as a civil penalty ranging up to $25,000.Anyone with information about the owner and location of the van is asked to call Lansford Police at 570-645-5844. All tips will be kept confidential.
