A teenager who was rescued at Glen Onoko Falls Thursday was awake and alert as he was transported to a local hospital.
The 17-year-old male reportedly struck his head after a fall near the second falls, which is about a 15-minute hike from the Glen Onoko parking area. The incident was reported just before noon.
Firefighters and rescue workers from several municipalities climbed the trail and brought the victim down on a Stokes basket. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation of a head injury.
He was awake and alert as he was loaded into the ambulance.
Assisting Jim Thorpe at the scene are Lehighton Fire Department and Lehighton Ambulance, Nesquehoning Fire Department, Lehigh and Lasaunne Fire department and Penn Forest fire department.
