July 6, 1971 - Brian Metzger pitches a no-hitter to lead Lehighton to a Lehigh Valley Legion 12-2 win over Parkland. Metzger strikes out seven batters, but allows two runs on walks and wild pitches. He aids his own cause at the plate by collecting three hits and three RBIs. Rich Hopstock also finishes with three hits, one a homer, and knocks in four runs, while Donnie Borger adds three hits and an RBI. The winners, who blow the game open with an eight-run seventh innings, also receive two hits and two runs from Danny Kunkle.
