Erin Elizabeth O'Gurek, formerly of Summit Hill, graduated on May 18 magna cum laude from Temple University's Beasley School of Law, Philadelphia, where she received a juris doctor degree.
The wife of Steve Bariexca, she and her husband and their son, Jack Robert, 4, reside in Radnor. Erin is the daughter of William and Siobhan O'Gurek of Summit Hill.Before the commencement, she was among the top Temple Law students recognized at an awards assembly held on the campus, where she was named the recipient of the Harriet Robinson Gillock Memorial Fund award that goes to a graduate who exemplifies integrity and professional and personal dedication to her fellow students and the law school community.During her career there, Erin was an intern to the Honorable L. Felipe Restrepo, judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She also served as staff editor and then lead research editor of the Temple Law Review. Erin was the recipient of the Noonan Scholarship awarded to a student who demonstrates excellence in business law and was a teaching assistant and research assistant to several professors at the university.She also volunteered her time within the Temple community and was recognized as a Rubin Public Interest Scholar for her role in a program called Wills for Heroes, in which she provided free legal services to first responders and military veterans.A 2003 graduate of Marian High School in Hometown, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Villanova University in 2008. Erin previously worked as a registered nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Will's Eye Hospital, both in Philadelphia.O'Gurek has been hired as a corporate and securities associate by Dechert LLP, Philadelphia, where she was a summer associate in 2016.
