Motorists may see a fire shooting from the top of a propane tank at the Ametek plant in Nesquehoning today.

Ferrellgas Propane will be conducting a controlled burn of the residual vapors on its propane tank at the plant so it can replace valves to keep the tank in compliance.Motorists should be advised that the borough police and fire departments were notified of the controlled burn ahead of the event.Officials also said the controlled burn may continue Friday if there is any propane left inside the tank that must be burned.
