The theft of an American flag from a flagpoleon Upper Middle Creek Road in Polk Township is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The victim is a 66-year-old man from the township.He told police someone stole the flag between 6 p.m. June 24 and 8 p.m. June 25. In the process of the theft, the suspect cut and damaged the ropes on the flagpole.
