Five area baseball players were named starters on the Lehigh Valley Legion all-star team.

Four from the Northern Valley Chargers and one from the Carbon Monarchs will be in the starting lineup when LVL takes on Schuylkill-Berks Legion in their All-Star game, to be played Tuesday, July 11 at First Energy Stadium in Reading.Northern Valley players named include catcher Tyler Wiik, second baseman Evan Meixsell, shortstop Justin Welch, and outfielder Tyler Schreiner. The Monarchs' Collin Haupt will get the starting job at third base.In addition to the five players, five others were chosen as reserves and pitchers.They include Northern Valley's Trevor Schreiner (first base), Austin Hemingway (outfield) and Ben Cordova (pitcher), and Carbon's Derek Joyce (second base) and Justin Marykwas (pitcher).The game on July 11 is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.The rest of the starters for LVL are South Parkland's Matt Mellinger (first base) and Adam Mellinger (outfield), Emmaus' Eric Cichocki (designated hitter), and Salisbury's Ryan Miller (oufield).Tickets for the game are $6 and can be purchased at the gate. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
