Cats in the car

Think you've got a cat stuck in your car?

It's not an uncommon scenario, and actually somewhat typical during winter months.Follow these steps to ensure a safe retrieval of your feline friend.• Do not start the engine. The cat could be near a fan, belt or other part of the vehicle that could injure them.• Avoid loud noises or large groups of people. The cat is most likely hiding because it is afraid, and these things could startle it even more.• Have a cat carrier or a Havahart trap ready, if possible.• Get some strongly scented pet food, such as a fish flavor, to lure the cat out.• Be patient. It may take a little while for the cat to feel comfortable enough to come out, or it may need some time to wiggle its way out of a tight spot. For more information on helping cats in need, check out the Palmerton Cat Project on Facebook.
