One person was killed Friday afternoon in a crash along White Bear Drive in Summit Hill.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. as the vehicle was traveling west about a mile from Mauch Chunk Lake boat dock B.The car crossed the roadway, entering the berm, where it plummeted down a steep embankment, coming to rest in a group of trees.The victim, a 68-year-old man from Coaldale, was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to an area trauma center, where police said he died.Attempts to reach Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller Friday night for comment were unsuccessful. Summit Hill police are investigating the incident.
