Lehighton Area High School graduate Amelia Waibel recently was one of 17 student-athletes inducted to Marywood University's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athletic Society.

Waibel, a recent Marywood graduate, was a Colonial States Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll selection as a senior. Waibel played in 20 games, making 19 starts. She ranked third on the team in goals (eight) and points (20) and tied for second with four assists. Waibel also had two game-winning goals this past fall.Waibel scored two goals in a game on three separate occasions, doing so against Ramapo College of New Jersey (Sept. 11), Immaculata University (Oct. 1) and Keystone College (Oct. 27).The Pacers finished the season with a record of 12-8.The daughter of Kerry and Ann Waibel, Amelia majored in Early Childhood/Special Education.
