Summit residents enjoy family picnic

Residents at The Summit, Gnaden Huetten Hospital's retirement community, enjoyed the hospital's annual family picnic Wednesday afternoon. The event is organized each year to give residents the chance to spend quality time with family members and other residents outside.

"It's good to get the families around and it's a great way to encourage socialization," said Rachel Krajcirik, public relations assistant at Gnaden Huetten.Krajcirik says that most residents participate in the picnic and enjoy the food and entertainment offered. "Close to 50 are here.""It's a good way to get outside," says Kaitlin Doncsecz, activities assistant. "It's always nice to get the families together."Summit residents were served hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon, baked beans, pasta and tomato salads, fruit and iced tea. Entertainment for the day was provided by Jean Andrews and the AmericanDream Band.
