The Little Schuylkill River in Tamaqua will see a huge increase in the duck population this Sunday.

In addition to the usual mallards, teals and American black ducks, the river will be filled with yellow rubber ducks as the Tamaqua Fire Police Association holds its annual Rubber Duck Race.The race is being held in conjunction with the Tamaqua Summerfest.The event will start at the Elm Street bridge at 3 p.m., racing to the finish line which is just south of the Cedar Street bridge. Each duck will have a number, corresponding to tickets which are now on sale.
