Carbon County made a number of personnel and salary moves during its meetings on Thursday.

CommissionersThe commissioners made the following personnel moves:• Sheriff's appointment: Brian D. Hawk of Bethlehem, special deputy sheriff trainee, effective July 3.• Hires: Kristy L. Hahn of Lehighton, county caseworker I, Children and Youth Services, effective June 12; and Kasey M. Herman of Jim Thorpe, lifeguard, Mauch Chunk Lake Park, effective June 2.• Liquid Fuels Summer Program: John P. McCole and Ryan Taras of Nesquehoning, and Christopher M. Miller of Jim Thorpe, effective June 5; Tanner Haydt of Lehighton, effective June 12; Anthony J. Micholik of Lansford, effective June 14; and Hunter A. Kennedy and Tanner E. Kennedy of Nesquehoning, effective June 15.Salary Board• Archives: Establish the position of one temporary clerk at $8 per hour, effective June 1.
