Memorial services in Nesquehoning

Members of the Nesquehoning UVO were joined by 58 family members of the late Fred Knauf, who was killed in an airplane crash on the Broad Mountain 75 years ago, to remember the area's fallen veterans on Sunday.

The group first traveled to the Knauf memorial, where the UVO presented an American flag to the Knauf family before leaving them there to visit with their lost loved one for a while, while the UVO visited the borough's cemeteries to perform a prayer and gun salute. The family was then treated to a luncheon at the Hauto Fire Company following the events.
