Memorial services in Jim Thorpe

Members of American Legion Post 304 in Jim Thorpe conducted a Memorial Day service Sunday on the Sgt. Andrew J. "AJ" Baddick Memorial Bridge in Jim Thorpe where a wreath was dropped into the Lehigh River to honor Navy and Coast Guard personnel, and all who lost their lives at sea.

The Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304 hosted Memorial Day services at monuments, cemeteries and churches throughout the region, with a short program consisting of the placement of a wreath, prayer, rifle salute and taps.

On Monday, participants will meet at the Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post 304 at 7:45 a.m. Memorial Day services will be conducted at the following cemeteries: 8:15 a.m., Immaculate Conception; 8:45 a.m., Evergreen; 9:10 a.m., Saint Joseph's; 10 a.m., Mauch Chunk.
