Showers are in the forecast this holiday weekend

People who are planning outdoor activities will have to keep an eye on the weather this weekend, as showers and thunderstorms are a possibility. Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: Isolated showers before 8 a.m., then scattered showers after 9 a.m. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. West wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday night: A chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after 8 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 55. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Memorial Day: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
