Jim Thorpe police have charged a couple for illegally connecting to a gas line.

Jerry Rossano, 55, and Denise Rossano, 53, both of Strattford Road, New Hyde Park, New York, have been charged with theft of services, criminal conspiracy to commit theft of services, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and risking a catastrophe.Police said the couple conspired to illegally hook up their property at 24 W. Broadway, to a gas line owned by UGI. The total amount of service was $8,578, plus an additional $3,310.80 to repair and replace the altered bypassed gas line.
