There were no contests in the balloting on Tuesday for four nominations for four-year terms on the Panther Valley School District Board of Education.

Only four candidates sought the positions, including three incumbents, Irene Genther, Keith Krapf and Christopher Kerestes, and a newcomer, William J. Mansberry Jr.Voters in Summit Hill, Lansford and Nesquehoning in Carbon County and Coaldale in Schuylkill County participated in the balloting.In Carbon County, the vote totals were as follows:Democratic: Mansberry, 625; Kerestes, 594; Genther, 550; and Krapf, 478.Republicans: Kerestes, 286; Mansberry, 268; Genther, 243; and Krapf, 235.In Coaldale, the four candidates received 63 Democratic votes each. On the GOP side, Kerestes had 107; Genther, 101; Mansberry, 96; and Krapf, 95.
