2017 Primary: Tamaqua

Tamaqua Incumbent Democratic Mayor Christian Morrison has decided not to seek another four-year term. No Democrat has filed a nominating petition so the new mayor will likely be a Republican, unless a write-in campaign is conducted by someone to get the Democratic nod. Three people have filed for the Republican nomination for mayor, and all are newcomers to the political scene in the borough. Seeking the position are Nathan J. Gerace, William F. Price Sr. and Christine Rottet Hartung. There is also a race for a GOP nomination for council, four-year term. There are three to be elected, with four Republicans filing. The candidates are Kerry Lasky, Michael E. Morgans, Ritchie A. Linkhorst and Dave D. Mace. The lone Democrat is James E. Hull. The results for the mayor Republican ballot: Nathan J.
