May 13, 1999 - Marian's Erin Brady and Tamaqua's Noel Powell each win three gold medals at the Schuylkill League Track and Field Championships. Brady claims the 100 in 12.51 seconds, the 200 in 26.26 and the 400 in a Schuylkill League record-setting time of 59.22. Powell also captures the 100 (10.92) and 200 (22.3) while adding the long jump (22-0) to his list of wins. Panther Valley's Kristin Blazosky is the only other area multiple-winner, taking the long jump (15-10 1/2) and triple jump (34-0). Other TN firsts come from Panther Valley's John Stanko (triple jump), and Tamaqua's Bridget Troxell (high jump) and Brandy Blasko (pole vault).
