People noticed a large state police presence in Nesquehoning Sunday night, the result of the capture of a felon wanted in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Jomar Christopher Valle, 34, was arrested at a home located on East Railroad Street after a raid that occurred Sunday night.Valle has been wanted on attempted homicide charges for about two years. Police say he stabbed an Allentown man during a dispute in July of 2015.He is also wanted for violating his parole on a previous felony conviction.On Sunday, state police learned that Valle was possibly in Nesquehoning borough, and received a search warrant for the property where he was believed to be located. Troopers learned that Valle was armed, and called in the agency's Special Emergency Response Team.The heavily armed officers were able to enter the home and take Valle into custody without incident.According to court records, Valle was charged with attempted homicide in July 2015. Police say that Valle stabbed an Allentown man in the back, after chasing him into traffic. The alleged incident occurred July 16, 2015 on the 500 block of Allen Street in the city. The victim suffered a punctured lung.At the time of the incident, Valle was on probation after pleading guilty to a felony robbery charge. That charge stemmed from an incident where the then-15-year-old was charged as an adult.Valle was arraigned before a judge in Lehigh County Sunday night, denied bail, and has been incarcerated at the Lehigh County Jail.
