Tamaqua Area and Panther Valley school districts have no races for nominations to the school board in Tuesday's primary election.

Here is a look at area school districts in the Times News coverage area.Tamaqua AreaThere are four seats up for election with four names on the ballot.Incumbents Thomas A. Rottet, Mark Rother and Bryan Miller are joined on the ballot by Nicholas E. Boyle on the GOP side. On the Demo side Boyle, Rottet and Miller cross-filed while Rother did not.Panther ValleyThere are four seats up for election with four candidates cross-filing.The candidates are Christopher Kerestes, William Mansberry Jr., Irene Genther and Keith Krapf.Mahanoy AreaThere are four seats up with five candidates, all who have cross-filed.Seeking the positions are Steven Gnall, John Honus, Jay Hanley, Karen E. Yedsena and Jim Mitchell.There is a two-year seat up in Mahanoy Area but no one has filed so a write-in candidate could emerge.Blue MountainThere are four seats up and five candidates, all who have cross-filed.The hopefuls are Herman Robert Fligge, Dean Gherghel, John A. Carestia, Anne Usuka and David W. Williams.HazletonThere is no shortage of candidates for four seats with seven running, all cross-filing.The candidates are Ed Shemansky, Mark Scarcella, Robert W. Childs, Linda DeCosmo, Bob Mehalick, James Chapman and Alex C. Van Hoekelen.
