The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. May 23 in the social hall of Zion Church of Lewistown Valley. The May arrangement will be any fresh flower in a patriotic container, while the specimen category will be any blooming flower or shrub. The program will include a presentation by Barb and Colleen's Unique Craft Studio and will include the opportunity to create a craft item.New members are always welcome. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. The free event is being sponsored by Pastor Ken Melber and Nancy Meiser. Guest speaker will be Dr. Muir of the Lehigh Valley Health Network.The public is welcome to attend.The church's first evening contemporary service will be held May 20, with Pastor Russell Campbell, in the social hall. Dress is casual. All are welcome.An old-fashioned church picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 30, at West Penn Park.Calvary ECThe Rev. Phillip Sabas will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Special music will be presented in honor of Mother's Day. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.A free movie night will be offered on May 19, presenting the film "The Hiding Place."
