Mahoning Township tax collector Pauline Homm is seeking re-election to that post in the primary election on the Democratic Party ticket.

She is running unopposed.Homm, 64, a lifelong resident of the township, also serves on the Mahoning Municipal Authority and formerly owned and operated the Normal Square Minimart for nearly 19 years.A 1970 graduate of the Lehighton High School, the former Pauline Leaser is married to Leon Homm for the past 24 years.She is a former Times News employee and worked as a bookkeeper for nine years before opening the minimart.Before that, she worked in several retail clerk positions in Lehighton businesses.The tax office will remain at its current location, 471 Stewart Creek Road, and she will continue to offer flexible hours and appointments by request to meet the needs and requests of residents.She is well organized and keeps impeccable records.Her various positions demonstrate her enjoyment of working with the public and helping people.She is a community-oriented person and through her life worked in the community of her residence and supported local businesses to help maintain and support the local economy.Homm has one daughter, Denise (Breidegam) Frey, who is married for nearly 10 years to Nevin Frey.In her spare time, Homm enjoys baking, and working outside in the backyard garden.She is a member of St. John's Church in Mahoning Township.She is also a social member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and the American Legion Post 314 in Lehighton.Homm is also animal lover and has two dogs, Nellie and Ginger, both of whom are adopted from the New Spirit for Aussie rescue organization.
